About the Guest:

Dave Fenlon is an Interpretive Park Ranger and the current Education Lead at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. He grew up a mere 15 minutes from the Lakeshore, which undoubtedly had a big impact on his love for nature. Always one to dole out unprompted facts about flora and fauna when outdoors, his friends and family took to calling him "Ranger Dave" well before he ever thought of working for the National Park Service. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology as well as a Peace Corps Master's International degree in biology, both from Michigan Technological University. He served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Philippines as a Coastal Resource Management Volunteer from 2012 to 2015, where he also met his future wife, Ruth. Dave and Ruth both enjoy backpacking, being foodies, and watching comedies and documentaries in their spare time.
